Features of a Sensory Garden
Poochie Garden is a canine sensory garden experience. We offer plenty of shade, plus room to zoom! Warm-weather water features include a 2×3×1′ Pup Pool for wading and splashing, plus a tiered ceramic fountain. Both have solar-powered pumps. Pup-safe plantings like spearmint, strawberry, catnip, wheat grass, lavender, thyme, oregano, phlox, and more offer your pooch plenty to explore, sniff, and nibble. Turf includes dirt, cypress and cedar mulch, short grass, and large beds of tall ornamental grass as natural snuffle spots. Other tactile surfaces include a sand Digging Garden and natural rock, cobblestone, and wooden deck walking surfaces – all securely contained within the safety of a 6-foot wooden privacy fence.
Visit Poochie Garden for Enrichment
Poochie Garden is full of enrichment! We know that exploring a variety of experiences can help to complete your dog’s enrichment plan. Interactive puzzle stations, a rocker balance board, agility weaving-pole and jump-hurdle practice walk (for an intro, not for speed), and a stump walk add to your pup’s best day. Our curated selection of toys includes hard rubber and nylon garden-themed toys, a flirt pole, Jolly Balls, and a Chuckit! Bring kibble or treats to challenge your hound to the mental stimulation of a puzzle toy or a foraging adventure in the tall grass.
Visiting Humans
Humans can rest or explore the garden and enjoy the sounds of water, chimes, and birds while your pooch plays. Seasonal and static picturesque photo ops are plentiful to help you capture memories of your visit. Include a human friend or two and their dogs in your reservation if you’d like to share the garden experience! We provide ice water and a few snacks, as well as sunscreen, and natural insect repellent to help you enjoy your visit. Please note that there are a few steps and slopes into and around the garden that may impact access for those with mobility challenges and limitations.
Connect with Nature
Poochie Garden is recognized by the National Wildlife Federation as a Certified Wildlife Habitat. We sustainably provide wildlife with food, water, cover, and places to raise young. Our Pawlinator Garden is dog-safe and recognized by the North American Butterfly Association as a Certified Butterfly Garden. Birds, rabbits, toads, butterflies, bees, and other friends share our space, and we ask our guests to do no harm. We actively replace ornamental plant species with native ones, and we skip pesticides and fertilizers for dog safety and to protect nature.

Poochie Garden is available for private use and by reservation only. It provides an excellent off-leash alternative to public dog parks for dogs and humans who prefer to limit their interactions with others. The garden makes a great neutral meeting space for a doggy play date or human date night, a celebratory freedom run for a newly adopted pup, a safe and enjoyable road-trip stretch break, or even a private session with your favorite dog trainer or photographer. The garden can accommodate up to 4 dogs of any size per booking. We offer add-on “Extras” for your visit, such as a Garden Pawty celebration package, as well as a seasonally available DIY Garden Bath and Garden Splash Pad. Reservations may be made through Sniffspot.
